Trio

Influenced by Picasso’s period of cubism, and surrealism and De Kooning’s abstract expressionism,  Martha paints biomorphic shapes. Martha is great at ambiguously blending figure and ground in her pictures while dismembering, re-assembling and distorting her figures in the process.

Trio:  A set or group of three people or things.  Playtime? In the Garden of Eden?  Painting inspired by conversations by the artists.  Flowers, once again are incorportated in the painting.
